Centre Builds on its Success

Thanks to the Interaction Partnership, in March 2007 CVST were awarded £189,700 to extend and refurbish Imperial house to create a new accessible multi information centre. The total cost of the project is estimated to be in the region of £440,000.

Colchester Catalyst charity donated a further £25,000 however this is still significantly distant from the target sum.

Work will begin Autumn 2007 and will finish April 2008. A grand launch is planned.

The new facilities will include a full time reception area, lift to the first floor, a computer suite and meeting room and a garden room which can be used for informal meetings.

Imperial House dates back to 1885 when it was a hotel and public house.  In 1998, it became home to 8 charities and is used by many more community groups for its comprehensive facilities including meeting rooms, fundraising and office services.

160 groups are now affiliated to CVST which has in the past, been instrumental in setting up and developing other schemes such as Tendring Community Transport, the North Essex Carers Support, Parentline, and Tendring Talking Newspaper to name a few.

If you wish to make a donation towards the new development, your sponsorship will be acknowledged in all our publicity and literature.  If you wish to discuss this further, please contact CVST and quote 'building donation'.  Otherwise you can 'gift aid' quoting CVST Building Development, and gain tax relief at the same time!  Contact CVST: 01255 425692 or information@tendringcvs.org.uk
